Fellowship Award

The Sierra Pacific Fellowship Award(s) given to students working toward a doctoral degree.

Applicants should be outstanding students working for doctoral degrees (or the equivalent), preferably entering the last year of study. Soroptimists are excluded from the competition.

Applicants must be citizens of a country represented by Soroptimist of the Americas, Inc. and must live within and be currently enrolled in a university or satellite program located within the boundaries of Sierra Pacific Region (including the area north of the northern boundary lines of Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, and San Bernadino counties and south of the southern boundary lines of Alameda, Marin, Sacramento, and El Dorado counties, and that portion of Alpine County west of the crest of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, but not including Mono and Inyo counties.

Candidates must be involved in an area of study that supports the Soroptimist Mission of "improving the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world."
